In a world with so many distractions around us and so many people (and devices) bustling for our attention, it can be hard to achieve the goals we set ourselves at times. One way to ensure that we cut through the clutter and stay laser focused on our goals is to ensure that we maintain strong motivational levels while we are working towards conquering our goals.

 

Here are our top 5 tips for making your goals a reality.

 

ENSURE YOUR GOALS ARE IN FACT YOUR GOALS.

Did you set this goal because it is something that you truly want to achieve for yourself or were you influenced by others to take this path? Making sure that your goals are absolutely something that you want and that will make you happy, can make all the difference to the strength of your motivation.

 

BREAK YOUR GOAL DOWN IN MINI GOALS.

Breaking your goal up into mini goals, means that you will be rewarded more often and you will be able to conquer your goals in more manageable stages. Ticking tasks off your to do list also releases a chemical in our brains called dopamine that will motivate us to achieve even more tasks!

 

HAVE A STRATEGY, HOWEVER EMBRACE FLEXIBILITY.

As you start moving through your mini goals, you may need to change course and re-evaluate where you are heading. This is perfectly normal as the more tasks we achieve, the more information we are gaining and sometimes this information means that we may need to look down a different pathway or achieve some additional tasks that we were not originally aware off. As long as you are prepared for this to occur then it won’t knock the wind out of your sails.

 

REMIND YOURSELF WHY YOU SET THE GOAL AND REST WHEN YOU NEED TO.

If during your journey things start to feel a little overwhelming, allow yourself to take some time out to remind yourself why you want to achieve the bigger picture. Remind yourself how far you have come and visualise what it will feel like or look like when you finally reach the pinnacle of success. Also remember to rest and take a much needed break to re-charge your energy levels.

 

BE CONSISTENT.

Finally, we would like to encourage you to take one piece of action every single day that brings you closer to your end goals. All of your small daily achievements will pay off in the long run.
